The Sisters Who Founded Bethel Healthcare (Hull) Ltd in 2018

After over a decade of running several successful care homes based in the United States, sisters Sylvia Zullo and Julieta Ciriaco had no idea that a short stop on their trip would change their lives forever. In 2018, while on vacation, they visited their niece in Hull. It was there in Hull that they discovered a new opportunity to spread their passion for caring for seniors beyond their borders and into the UK.

With this same passion, they inspired their niece, and the three of them turned that dream into a reality. In May 2019, they took over the Oak Tree House Residential Care Home. They transformed the home from a building into a modern care home with updated facilities, furniture, and a new look that has begun to capture the attention of the locals.

Lyndsey Wood

Home Manager
I am Lyndsey and have worked in the care industry for 21 years. I am in my 7th year as Manager. I started out as a bank carer and have worked my way up to Manager. Since Bethel Healthcare (Hull) Limited bought Oak Tree in May 2019, I have seen some major changes to the building. I am proud to say I am part of the Oak Tree family.

Michelle Lambert

Senior Carer

Hi, I'm Michelle and I am a Senior Carer at Oak Tree House. I have been with Oak Tree House for 7 years.

Before working at Oak Tree, I was a landlady in various pubs in the Yorkshire area and started caring in a temporary role, but I love the job and never looked back!

Oak Tree House has become my second home and the residents have become my extended family.

Maxine Batty

Senior Carer

I started working at Oaktree House in 2005. I had never worked in the care industry before, but I took a chance and it paid off. I love working at Oaktree and see my colleagues as part of my family. I stepped up as a senior carer in 2024 and enjoy this role because every day is different. There are always challenges, but having a good staff team helps make the job easier.

Jill England

Care Assistant

Jill is a very experienced carer and has worked in care for many years. She started working for us just after Bethel Healthcare took over. Jill is always happy and singing! She has her NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care.

Tanyia Baldock

Activity Coordinator

My name is Tanyia and I am the activities coordinator at Oak Tree. I have worked here for 8 years and am really compassionate with the residents.

The role of Activities Coordinator is a perfect job for me. Being part of an amazing team that is dedicated to the residents, looking after their care, health and stimulation in line with the Oak Tree promise is incredibly fulfilling. I look forward to planning and developing great activities to stimulate the residents and aid with their self-esteem, confidence, and meaningful conversations, among much more!

I feel I have such a rewarding job. Seeing how residents react to activities fills me with happiness when I see all the smiles.

Del Trott

Caretaker

Del is our very own 'Mr. Fix It'. He is a jack of all trades and is always smiling and willing to help, whether it be gardening, decorating, or DIY—you name it—he can do it (except for plastering!).

Del has worked at Oak Tree House for nearly two years and loves chatting with the residents as he completes his maintenance jobs throughout the day.

Lynn Brett

Head Cook

Lynn has worked at Oak Tree House since 2006. Prior to this, she worked at David Lister School. Lynn gives 100% to every meal she makes and uses locally sourced ingredients.

She makes some classic school puddings—we're not sure who likes them more: the staff or the residents!
